Love Your Network support for community groups on the National Cycle Network in Scotland

Do you belong to a community group that is helping to keep your local National Cycle Network route in good shape? As custodian of the Network, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ±¦µä can support you and provide maintenance equipment through Love Your Network.

‘Love Your Network’ is funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ±¦µä Scotland.Ìý

It supports community groups who are actively involved in caring for their local, traffic-free section of the National Cycle Network by providing equipment and staying in touch about activity in the community.ÌýÌý

What support can I apply for through ‘Love Your Network’ in Scotland?Ìý

‘Love Your Network’ has pre-made bundles which include:ÌýÌý

  • Equipment for litter picking – to transform the safety and attractiveness of your local path for people and wildlifeÌý
  • Tools for maintenance – from shovels and brushes to clear debris, to loppers and shears for keeping the route clearÌý

Community groups also have the option to build their own application if they need items not featured within a bundle.Ìý

For example, your group could request a bike trailer, hi-vis vests, or battery-powered tools.ÌýÌý

As custodian of the Network, we can also:Ìý

  • Work with you on coordinating volunteering in your area on Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ±¦µä' behalfÌý
  • Promote your group’s activity to other Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ±¦µä volunteersÌý
  • Provide ‘Quick Ways to Volunteer’ posters, encouraging individuals to do small tasks in your area

Why should I apply for ‘Love Your Network’?Ìý

By caring for these spaces, your group can make journeys on the National Cycle Network more attractive and enjoyable for everyone. Ìý

This will not only encourage more people to choose walking, wheeling and cycling for their everyday journeys, but also improve the local environment and community.Ìý

‘Love Your Network’ is available to support: Ìý

  • Community groupsÌýÌý
  • Registered charitiesÌýÌý
  • Social enterprisesÌýÌý

The grant supports community-based groups helping to improve traffic-free sections of the National Cycle Network.Ìý

Other groups may be considered at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ±¦µä' discretion.Ìý

When can applications be made?

Applications can be made from now until 5th February 2025.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ±¦µä reserves the right to close early or extend this date.
